A couple of weeks ago, I happened upon the down-to-earth Annie Watson in her studio at 428 East Putnam Ave. in Cos Cob. A few casual, candid black and white pictures blown up to poster proportions hanging on her studio wall indicates Watson’s ability to elicit a subject’s inner spark; romantic, mischievous, contemplative, wistful…. Watson captures it all. And, while having a great time, she also knows how to snag that particular, sometimes oddball moment when a baby reveals his or her true self. Snap, Snap.
But Watson, I discovered, is also a philanthropic, give back sort, and wants to do anything she can for the community – for babies in particular. So to that end, Annie Watson is holding a donation drive for diapers and baby food on Monday December 14 – Friday December 18, 9am – noon each day at her studio, which she will bring to to Kids in Crisis, Neighbor to Neighbor and United Way of Greenwich to help mothers and babies in need.
In exchange, Watson will waive her portrait sitting fee for 6mo. to 12 mo. babies – with each photograph automatically entered in her “best baby photo contest.” So, bring some disposable diapers, baby food and your kid (or just the food and diapers if you don’t have one of those) and be prepared for a fun, rambunctious, beautiful baby morning.
Those unable to make a drop-off during designated hours may call Ms. Watson at 203-485-0565 or e-mail awatsonphoto@aol.com to make other arrangements. For more information, visit Anniewatson.com.

All people are encouraged to bring by diaper and baby food donations even if they can’t do the photo session. Hats off to you Annie!! Xoxo. Kari
