Perrot Memorial Library is pleased to feature Jennifer Jordan, who will be speaking about her latest book, The Last Man on the Mountain: The Death of an American Adventurer on K2. This will be Jennifer’s second visit to Perrot; she previously shared with us her 2005 book, Savage Summit: The True Stories of the First Five Women Who Climbed K2, the World’s Most Feared Mountain.

The Cos Cob Library and Just Books are pleased to welcome Anatole Konstantin as he introduces his newest novel A Red Boyhood: Growing Up Under Stalin (University of Missouri Press; $29.95).  Konstantin grew up in Germany and attended the Technical University of Munich; he immigrated to the United States in 1949 and continued his engineering studies at Columbia University.  He is the founder of PDC International Corporation and lives in Connecticut.

On Wednesday, May 26, Temple Sholom will host author Irene Berman for a

discussion of her memoir,

, The

Untold Story (Rowman and Littlefield, 2010). Berman, a longtime resident of Connecticut, is a

native Norwegian Jew who as a very young child was among the fortunate to escape to Sweden

in 1942 with her immediate family.

Rabbi Mitchell M. Hurvitz, will introduce Berman.  This event is free and open to the

public.  A kosher lunch will be provided.

BACKGROUND ―We Are Going to Pick Potatoes, which is what the family housekeeper

her family’s war experiences, and the resilience of the human spirit.
