This Sunday, March 28th, Temple Sholom will once again host its annual Mitzvah Day. Mitzvah Day is hands-on opportunity to do good deeds for the less fortunate in the community. Children and their families are encouraged to participate. Over 60 congregational families are pre-registered, with children of all ages. Several hundred participants are expected.
There are a number of mitzvah projects for participants to choose from. Project Linus is set up to make no-sew fleece blankets for families in need. Other projects include creating layette gift packs for new moms, filling backpacks for school children with needed supplies, planting flowers for home-bound seniors, food collection and sorting for Neighbor to Neighbor, painting murals for senior homes, coin rolling and more.
Mitzvah Day takes place from 9am-11am with lunch following for the participants.
Temple Sholom is located at 300 E. Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830.
