Did you ever wonder why stone walls are a recurring visual motif throughout the town of Greenwich? On March 23 at 1:00 pm, The Greenwich Land Trust and the Greenwich Historical Society will join forces for an educational program on the historical significance of these rough-cut gems. Presenters Dan Barrett, Environmental Director of the Greenwich Land Trust and Anne Young, archivist at the Greenwich Historical Society, will talk about the variety of walls throughout town, including how they evolved and why they became such an important part of the town’s landscape. Following the lecture, participants will take a walk on one of the Land Trust’s preserves in back country Greenwich to explore the geology and history embodied in these iconic walls. Fred N.
