Once again, I direct your attention to a venue beyond the Greenwich border; this time to the fantastically worthy Westport County Playhouse. With a Board of Directors that includes James Earl Jones, Christopher Plummer and Joanne Woodward, this is not your amateur regional theater, and in fact, I have vivid childhood memories of being introduced to the kiddie classics there, and doing the same for my own children.

Workshops and events are broken up into Morning, Afternoon and Evening, running 10am – 10pm
Morning – 10:30am – 12:30pm – is geared, naturally, towards families and small children with storytelling, facepainting, backstage tours and books from the 2010 Family Festival Series.
Afternoon – 1pm – 4pm – events focus on teen activities with a Stage Combat workshop, tours of the theater, a chat with Tony Award winner Michael Yeargan, and a directing workshop with tick, tick, BOOM! director, Schott Schwartz – and much more.
Evening – 4pm – 9:30pm, for adults begins with a conversation with Artistic Director Mark Lamos about the 2010 season followed by a viewing of the Playhouse production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town.
