Description: The Tessera Quartet is one of the most exciting chamber ensembles currently emerging on the concert scene.
The quartet will present “You’re the Composer.” Children will stand in the composer’s shoes and make decisions that composers make such as which accompaniment goes with the melody, should it be fast or slow, loud or soft. The music the audience helps create will then be compared to pieces by such composers as Sibelius and Mendelssohn.
The Ashforth Children’s Concert Series is designed to expose children to classical and jazz music performance.
The 45-minute long show is appropriate for elementary school children. Pick up free, unassigned seating tickets at the Cole Auditorium at noon, and return when doors open at 1:50 pm.
